Overview
Nepal dwell some of the best wildlife safari in Asia. A dense lush green forest provide shelter to many endangered species such as Royal Bengal Tiger, one horned Rhinoceros, wild elephant, dears, birds and reptiles. Chitwan National park is first and most popular natural park in Nepal for wildlife safari also listed by UNESCO as ‘World Heritage Site’. The park is also the home to around 600 plant of species, 50 mammals, 526 birds and 49 amphibians and reptiles. A major habitat in the world for highly endangered big cat Royal Bengal Tiger.
Chitwan Wildlife Safari offers several activities including Elephant Back Safaris/ Jeep Safari through the National Park in search of wildlife, nature walks, jungle drives to spot animals, canoe rides to see crocodiles & water-birds, tribal village visits and a visits to elephant breeding center etc. In the evenings, Tharu tribal folk dances to conclude the day is truly satisfying.
Itinerary
Expand AllUpon arrival at Chitwan either at Bus stand or Airport, you will be received by our staff & transfer to hotel/ Resort. Check in, refresh will followed by Lunch.
Rest for few moment & proceed for sightseeing tour to the nearby ethnic Tharu village where you will learn more about the tradition and lifestyle of the Tharu community. Visit National Park Visitor’s center where you can learn more about the history of Chitwan National Park and wildlife. Wonderful sun set view from the bank of Rapti River across the dense national park forest.
Later, Tharu ethnic cultural presentation (you can join on presentation) by the local people. Dinner & O/N at hotel/ resort
Today is the happening day with multiple wildlife activities. After breakfast, you will proceed to Canoe ride along the Rapti River. An excellent opportunity for Bird Watching and spotting 2 rare species of crocodiles; the Marsh Mugger and the fish eating Gharial. Jungle Walk, on the way back to hotel/ resort, you can enjoy the elephant bathing View at Rapti river
Lunch, rest & proceed for Jeep Safari or Elephant Safari to the Chitwan National Park. An excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, famous Asian one horned rhinoceros, wild bore, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal Tiger (If you are lucky). You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home. Dinner & O/N at hotel/ resort
Early morning proceed for Elephant breading center visit, Bird watching is also possible on the way & back. Later, back to hotel for breakfast. Rest, check out & transfer to bus stand or Airport according to your schedules.

I have taken Chitwan Wildlife Safari as a family vacation with my two little girls & hubby in early October. The time is perfect to visit this famous National park probably the best animal sighting safari in south Asia. The day we arrive Chitwan is bit late and couldn’t do much. However, our wildlife excursion begins early morning following day as we ride giant Elephant and explore the deep Jungle. My girls are really curious to encounter with Rhinoceros as they always talks about it’s horn (nose) rise above the mouth & bending skins. They wish to see it live.
Luckily, we saw a mother & baby taking sunbath on the bush within 15 minutes ride inside National Park. As we proceed, saw several species of Deer, sloth Bear, Peacock, Mars crocodile, reptiles, birds & many more during our 3 our trip. Later, we have another experience while crossing the Rapti River on a small Canoe where two Crocodile was just a meters away, but they looks calm & relaxed. We ended up the day by observing Tharu Cultural show where they usually perform with sticks & fire. Final day we have Jeep Safari deep into the National park with more animal sights, beautiful Lakes and of course dense forest & exotic plants.
All in all this is perfect family vacation for us. This trip is choice of my bigger girls & hope they enjoy the vacation & learn much about the wildlife & mother nature… Thanks Himalaya Trekking for organizing the fabulous trip to us… Cheers !

I have planned a Mardi Himal Trek in Nepal with some colleague in October. Walk from lower and rice fields to reach higher alpine hills covered with thick dense forests of tall rhododendrons, oak and magnolia pines and fir lines.
