International Everest Day Observed !

The iconic International Everest Day- 29 MAY has been celebrated in Nepal by organizing various programs. Marking the legendary first successful summit of world’s highest Mt. Everest by Nepal’s Tenzin Norgey & New Zealand’s Sir. Edmond Hillary has been celebrating in Nepal & beyond since 2008. On this occasion, world’s highest and most adventurous Everest Marathon starting from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazaar has been organized on this day. Local athletes & Athletes from around the world has participated on the event. This adventurous mega Marathon will follow the same route which is popular as Everest Base Camp Trekking trial world wide.

Similarly; a morning rally has organized in Kathmandu by various tourism organizations, Nepal Tourism Board & Department of Tourism which passes thorough the major thoroughfares of the city. Hundreds of tourism personalities, departmental head of government agencies, the famous Sherpa climbers, international visitors, tourism entrepreneurs, workers & people from different walks of life has been participated on the rally.

The rally converted to a mass meeting after reaching by city Hall. Several personalities including famous climbers, record holders in Everest & notable mountain contributors has been confers during the event. An agreement between Nepal Mountaineering Association &  Um Hong Gil Human Foundation Nepal has been inked down to establish a Mountaineering School at Hungde of Manang district high up in the Himalayan region. Establishment of this school will enhance the skill, scope, publicity & safety of Mountain Tourism in Nepal.
